Native dictation for Mac.Windows is planned.

Openbroca is available now as a native Mac app. We started with macOS so we could focus on the everyday details of dictation: starting a recording, getting the words right, and inserting them where you are working.

The workflow is simple: press a shortcut, speak, and your words appear at the cursor. You can stay in your email, document, chat, or editor throughout.

The Mac app uses macOS shortcuts, permissions, and text insertion. Accessibility allows it to write into the focused field. Optional Screen Context helps with names and terms visible on screen. A compact status area shows when it is listening or processing.

A native Mac interface keeps dictation close to your work. The shortcut starts recording, a compact indicator shows its status, and the text goes into your current app.

From a quick reply to a longer draft, stay in the app where you are writing.

Looking for the earlier cross-platform experiment? Openbroca Origin is a separate, MIT-licensed Electron project for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It is still maintained, but it does not share code with the current native Swift app.
