Your browser and operating system provide the available voices. Openbroca does not send this text to its servers. Some voices use an online service and may send text to that provider; its data policy applies. Processing depends on the voice you choose.

Frequently asked questions
Is this text-to-speech free?
Yes. No account is required. The available voices and any limits on passage length depend on your browser.
Is anything I type uploaded?
Openbroca does not send this text to its servers. Some browser voices use an online service and may send text to the voice provider. Check that provider’s data policy if you need local processing.
Why are only a few voices listed?
The voice list comes from your OS and browser. You can install additional system voices (and languages) to expand it, and they'll appear automatically.
Can I download the audio?
This tool plays speech in your browser. It does not export an audio file. To save your own narration, use our free online voice recorder.
Which browsers are supported?
The latest Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox support speech synthesis. Available voices vary by browser and operating system.
